Angry Lights, Lights, got love and hate them

I decided after I was getting the run around with MB-North Houston, I should ask the people here who knows best. So need some help. I bought a brand new 05 c230 Kompressor a couple of months ago. Included part of the deal was the dealer installed xenon lights. I come to find out they are aftermarket lights which I was okay with. Here's the problem though after two weeks when the lights turn on the left won't come on till after a minute or longer. The right on comes on immediately. This doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough to where people point at my lights letting me know that a light is out, even though it isn't. Took it back to the dealer they said the igniter to the xenon lights went out because I kept the lights in the auto position. They said I cannot use the auto postiong anymore with my xenon's. Even though I noticed ever since that the xenon wouldn't come on as much as when the halogen bulbs were in, they had to reset the computer or something.

First, Is this true (mind you it was three weeks from a brand new installation)?

Second, the dealer said there is no way to install the same type of xenon lights coming from the factory, is this true? They didn't even put the projector type housing they just changed the bulbs and wiring harness, I told them earlier I wanted with the projector type housing, how much is it for the projector housing? They said it cost a thousand bucks a piece.

I feel like I got short changed by Mecerdes Benz - North Houston. I'm really not liking them at all now, car's been in the shop for these lights more than I've driven it almost.

WTF? I can have my bixenons on auto all day and they'll light up directly - and I also have an HID conversion on my foglights which - if left on auto - turn on when you unlock the car at night yes? But...

I have this retrofit - I have an '03 C-class with june 2004 projector assembly and ballast . I didn't wait to ask them about it, I literally took the ballasts to my SA and showed her "Hey Julie, these are what I'm putting in - observe the part number..." --> "I'll let you know when they're installed so that you guys can code in the Xenon=present setting, kthxbye". SA: "awesome - they'll make the car look so much different! See you soon!"

They're not ****ting you about the 1K a piece - but why buy from the stealer? There are low-beam HID kits available that don't require xenon=present coding, I'm not really in a position to say where to get them from (peace I say!).

HID conversion kits can be installed at home - plug and play - in less than 20 minutes if you follow instructions. :\. Good luck with the dealer, I hope that just going through the hassle of these dealer-installed lights doesnt amount to the cost of buying BIX (~1200?) from say Steve or so. Do you need help with anything else?

flip

Edit: I guess they may be telling you that there's "no way" for them to retrofit the assemblies on there because of the fact that the headlight washer assembly will be missing? and therefore might not have their full functionality? Does anyone use them? Aren't ya'll concerned about your wax jobs .

They are giving you at lot of BS. I only go to Star Motor Cars MB dealer that is located inside the 610 loop in Houston. There service and SA's are great.

would you mind PM'ing me some brands?

sorry to hijakk your thread C240-Merc... my applogies...

as for the dealer instaling aftermarket HID in your car, i am sure there is some MBUSA policy against it, if they give you a hassel about fixing it i say take it up to MBUSA and let them know their dealer offer you and instaled aftermarket accesories in lieu of OEM! thanks should get some heads turning!
