monoblock VI problems

just got my monoblock VI's (19x8.5 fa, 19x9.5 ra) tried to put them on.....That's where the problem started. They come with for adapters, 2 thick ones, and 2 thin ones. Thinking that the thick ones go on the back and the thin ones in the front. Little did I know what problems to expect. I drove about 500 ft. started to smell some burning. The metal strut or piece was rubbing on the inside rim and sidewall of the front 2 rims. It tore up the rims and melted some of the sidewall. The rim; some of the finish ruined, and some of the metal torn off. Luckily it was only on the inside of only the front 2 rims. Hopefully it didn't ruin the rims or any slow leaks in the future. Other than that I love the wheels.

Long story short: if anyone gets the rims make sure the Thicker adapters go on the front, and the thinner ones in the rear, if you already didn't know that.

thanks for listening

What kind of car do you drive? Didn't know that you needed spacers for the Monoblock's!!!!

I didn't put the wheel spacers that came with my wheels w/ fear of rubbing and I only have 18's.

I still have the flush look!

You should have those wheels checked!

I drive a C240 01. I also have monoblock IV's (18"). they didn't come with adapters, they only came with 4 small metal rings for the wheels. The monoblock VI's (19") on the other hand came with 4 adapters. they are not spacers i don't think, but i guess adapters are a fancier word for spacers. People where I bought the rims said that germans like the wider stance. the adapters are all from brabus with there id number. I have no rubbing problems or have to roll the fenders w/ adapters on

I will show you guys pics when I can get my friend to take them w/ his digital camera.

But I am very pleased with the rims put on the right way. Rides really nice, and looks good. ( I think)
