ASYST oil grade setting
I changed the oil in my C270CDi and, on resetting ASSYST, it offers choices for the oil grade - either Standard (I guess that's 229.1), 229.3 or 229.5.
I found that it doesn't matter which grade I select, the car always shows 13,000miles to next service.
I would have expected Standard would show a lower mileage (like 10,000) and 229.5 might show a higher mileage.
Can anyone explain why it always shows the same mileage after reset?

Rorry, the only thing I can think of is that it may adjust the maximum time interval and/or perhaps the mileage will count down at a slower rate for 229.5 versus Standard.

My guess is it is based on application/usage/environment which can vary and once you input the spec, it asumes that you will not change it until another oil change (if necessary). Then if there was a failure there would be a record of the oil spec. Or it could be nothing more than forcing you to verify the oil spec (which, if that's true, it did very well!!).
