Noise from wheels/brakes on new Coupe- Help

On my auto coupe (barely a week old), I have experienced strange sounds from the wheels/brakes.

basically I when I am at some lights, junction etc. in drive with my foot on the brake, I hear a creaking, like the car wants to go against the brakes. OK if I press down more firmly, I don't hear this, but when releasing the brake, I sometimes get a creak/clunk.

Is this normal, Is it just the brake pads wearing in. Please bear in mind that this is the first Automatic car I have had.

I don't know about the clunking, but creaking is normal if you creep fwd with your foot on the brakes.

On some occations my brakes also makes these noises, like a deep squeak (also an auto, but a sedan) and I have 18000 km on the odo. My brake pads should be "broken in" by now. Mostly I can hear these noises when the discs/pads are wet and cold. I think it's normal. Havn't seen any brake fading/failure tendencies yet anyway.

Well, I must admit we're getting a lot or rain in the UK at present -what's new!. Howeveer, the noise occurs in dry conditions as well.

Thanks to all those who have replied.

Mine do that too. It seems like car is winding down upon slow braking (when you lift your feet up from the brake the feeling/sound continues). However when you press hard on your brake it goes away. It happens on dry condition too.
