Any way to negotiate from a build from the factory?
I dropped by a Mercedes dealer in the Bay Area and he had a 2003, silver, C5, C7, auto on his lot. It was almost perfect, but....
I mentioned that Xenons just became available as an option on the coupe. He was an older guy and he insisted that they were available on the 2002 line. Which I knew he was confused.
Bottom line is that he said any coupes coming in won't have xenons and that if it was requested, would have to be ordered as a custom build from the factory.
I was wondering from your experiences, is there any way to negotiate below msrp if it's going to be a build coming in from the factory?
I know with dealer stock you have a better negotiating angle.
Thanks for your feedback.
But, that said, I think you get as good or better deals ordering because the car is not considered in dealer's "floorplan" w/ associated insurance costs, etc. This has been my experience in 30 years of car buying -- your experiences may differ.
