electric seat problems
I have a 2001 C320, the drive side seat (electric) only slides back half way... It just stops, it doesnt make any noise or any kind of clue that something is obstructing it maybe. Everything else is functional as well, the controls, the memory etc. (drivers side is also fully functional)
Has anyone had this problem before?

I've read on this forum, and also had it happen with my C230, that the placement of the wires causes rubbing when the seat is moved that eventually rubs through the wire insulation. My last service repair sheets stated just that when it was taken in because the driver's seat stopped working. They ran a prodedure of measuring the amperage the wire(s)/motor was drawing, saw it to be excessive (something like a constant 6 amps, I believe), then located where the insulation was rubbed through and touching a seat bracket, causing a short. From the description of the repair, they just 'fixed' the hole in the wire somehow and moved the harness so that it doesn't rub when the seat is moved. I haven't had the time to check it for myself yet.

what if you let go of the switch then press it back again? mine is having a similar problem, the seat will move then shut off until you let go of the switch and push it again, then it stops again. it's really annoying, it takes like 4 or 5 times of pushing the button until it goes all the way forward or backward.
