windshield

I searched the forums but couldn't find results specific enough ...

Has anyone here replaced their C class windshield (factory OEM with rain sensor), and if so, how much did it cost?

Can anyone recommend a shop in the San Fran Bay Area?

TIA

Is the rain sensor on the glass or attached to the glass? It seems to me that it is attached to it, am I right?

I am not sure where the sensor elements are, but what I've read from the various threads here is it's a different windshield.

For cars with sport package, I believe the glass also has a subtle blue tint, but correct me if I am wrong here. Does this mean it's a different windshield as well, or am I just over-thinking?

Lastly, do the aforementioned prices include labor?

Thanks to all who chimed in.

$1200 @ dealer included 4 hrs labor,I guess the tech had to watch the glue dry.

Good Luck.

i do not have the sports package and my originial and replacement windshield are both 'blue tinted'. $400 is out the door.

btw, the rain sensor is in the top middle of the windshield. i never heard it being anywhere else....
