Warrenty Void... part 2

aight, i just read this thread ...

it talked about suspensions, etc... but can a cold air intake actual void my warrenty... i called my dealership today and the lady i talked to had no idea... im going to try to get a hold of my service rep, both at Mercedes of Tampa and Lokey Mercedes, and see what they say...

can it void you warranty?? absoultely. And even if it didn't technically, dealerships will void it themselves so you can end up paying ALOT in service fees. I've had that happen to me before with my VW. But think about it- you are modifying a part of the car more specifically the engine therefore if anything were to happen after the install of the intake they can simply blame it on the intake and your paying alot then. So if it didnt come from MB or a part is installed by an authorized MB shop then it can void a part of your warranty-

also, has anyone installed a CAI on their 06 c230...

or has anyone installed a cold air on their V6... if so which one? i cant seem to find one that matches with my car..

I think what bossman stated is completely wrong. I've read countless times on this forum that unless MB can prove that the modification caused the problem, they can't void your warranty.
