Advice before warranty expires
Hi all,
I have 49k miles on my car and luckily I timed it so that I would get a free second service B.
I have no had any problems with my c230k except for a problem w/ the sunroof and the mirror not working properly. I also have some questions about the bass (maybe a loose speaker) and with the air conditioning smelling horribly.
Besides this, is there anything I should specifically ask for them to fix prior to losing warranty; are there any recalls or other common things that I should have them take a look at in case it breaks at 50,001?
Thanks a lot guys!
Mark

well. i had them fix some rust issues, which is a BIG prob. so look around the car and make sure there isn't any rust, especially at the license plate. i also had them clean the wheels. the brake dust got so bad on the wheels it baked right on there and i just could not clean them. all under warranty.
btw, if there is a recall, regardless is the car is under warranty or not, the dealer is suppose to replace the part and do it using their labor all for free to you the owner (but it will cost MB...)

for the stinky a/c they will try to tell you that they will just flush the system with some smell good stuff...well this only works for the drive home, insist on them replacing the evaporator, as i need to take my car back in becaue my demands were not met and my car still smells.

I brought my car in at 49,999 (according to the receipts) although I think it was closer to 95ish. I just gave them the car and said check everything and pointed out a few small issues I had (seatbelt & engine cover). Even though I have a 100K warranty, there are still certain things that aren't covered past 50K.
I picked up my car with 50,015 so they actually drove the car to check for problems, which I am happy about.

I have 43,000 miles now, so I need to start thinking about these things.
tell them to check the stupid suspension components, they really tend to crap out after 50k

rust is not covered after 50K in the extended warranty.
check your extended warranty pamphlet will be a good start, i'm not sure all are the same, but i heard some stealers claiming some electronics cannot be replaced under the extended warranty like speakers (which i think is BS).

If you read the fine print of the MB extended warranty it explains exactly what is and what is not covered. There are quite a few things listed that are not covered.
