3M clear bra installation results
Just thought I'd post some photos focusing on the 3M Scotchgard film that was installed a few weeks ago on my Pewter 2006 C230. The installer was very meticulous and spent a little over six hours on the project. The results are quite good with no bubbles, lifted edges, ripples, or haziness. The kit included full front bumber, fronts of the fenders, front of the hood, and side mirrors. No chips since the film has been on the car, whereas I was previously noticing one or two after every interstate excursion. The film is barely noticeable on the pewter color and has a five year warranty.

Looks good! I have a brilliant silver and it's hardly noticable too. Mine covers all that you mentioned, but also all of the edgings of the 4 doors, gas tank, and rear upper bumper (small flat portion to prevent scratching when unloading/loading in/out the trunk.

That looks great! I tried doing it myself when I first bought my car and was very unsuccessful with it.
Also I'm skeptical on what the long term affects are when the paint starts to fade from the sun and elements of what it would look like when you take it off. I'm sure there will be a tan line later to come.

Yes, the car has been slightly rebadged in accordance with a designation that MB used to follow, ie displacement based. I don't think marketing should be asserting naming nomenclature, and that too in an inconsistent manner among models. Displacement based numbering, with very few exceptions, has traditionally been common practice with MB and I thought the car should reflect that. I only replaced the 3 with a 5 taken from a C350 badge purchased from the dealership.
The installer had mentioned that he had taken films off cars after several years with no noticeable lines. Since the film does not filter out UV, I'm inclined to believe the paint will age fairly equally. There is a no-yellowing, cracking, or peeling warranty for five years and the new 3M film has a clearcoat layer which gives it an equal gloss to that of the paint's clearcoat.
