Brake fluid gets replaced after 2 years but all the other stuff other than change oil or air filters is not worth 'B' service prices at dealer. Look in the book and it will tell you...then do the visual stuff yourself....and pay an indy mechanic to change oil/brake fluid/windshield washer blades etc. if they need it.

B Service

The B service seems to be an overpriced suped-up oil change, with replacement of the two air filters, both cabin air filters (the paper element one under the hood as well as the activated charcoal one under the dash - this seems to be consistent for the C class W203), wiper blade inserts and tire rotation.

I spent about $155 from Autohaus for the air filters, cabin filters and wiper inserts. A local dealer service tech indicated the B service would run about $450. This same tech said the oil change/filter replacement and topping of the fluids would be about $125 - $150.

As far as doing the above work yourself, this is my first MB and the difficulty level was not as bad as anticipated. These service items are not rocket science, you will do just fine. When in doubt ask members questions as many have pictures and service bulletins they will gladly share.

Best of luck,
Al

also, if you do-it-yourself, you would not only learn something about your benz, but actually then appreciate and take care of your car more.
