Remote hatch release on Coupe?
What do I have to do to get a hatch release button, break my original 2-button keys? I NEED the remote hatch release button and I need it NOW!
Who's got it & how do I get it?

I can see the rush of people going to their dealers now....
What's this I hear about some coupes having a hatch-popper button on their key?

odd that MB would build that functionality into the central locking system on the coupe but not add a button to the key to use it.
I'm going in for service-A soon and I'll tell the service adviser:" Sir, the hatch release button on my key doesn't work".

Well, I had to pay for it, it cost me around $130.00
i wonder what would happen if the dealers suddenly got a bunch of keys that are broken? a recall? and then all the keys would be recalled and all the 2002 owners would benefit. so you see, i'm really just trying to help my fellow 2002 owners...
yeah, you're welcome.
Not a big deal to me, because you have to walk back there anyway (why else would you pop the hatch?), but still I hate not having all buttons possible

Any other's with '03's? Did you get the same? I re-read this post and saw only late '02's with the 4-button keys.
A hatch release button is great if you're carrying something heavy and just want to nudge the hatch open to put your cargo inside. I've had it with other hatchbacks/wagons and found it extremely useful.
If anyone had any more info on getting it on the '03, I would definitely pursue it.
