I was curious about the automatic transmission fluid "lifetime" claim so I had it analyzed at 99K miles. No conclusive proof one way or the other that it is or isn't. Turns out the test showed more particulates than averages but since the oil was used longer, and it's the original break in oil, that is expected. I guess the only good test would be to break in the trans (how long is that?), change the oil, run it for 33k miles and pull some out for analysis.
