just want to know how fast have you guys/girls gone in your C-class.
the fastest i have ever driven was around 140 mph. at that point i just couldn't get my foot to stay on the gas anymore. i was scared by the speed that i was going.

Hey Frank....come on, the car is so stable that you will only feel like you're doing 100. My fastest speed is about the same as yours but the car didnt feel like you're doing that fast. Next time when you floor it, dont lift the accelerator and dont look at the speedo. 150 is easily reachable!
But remember, drive safely!!! Do it in a desert!

130 in the coupe. that's the limit.
first time i did it i was my foot started to shake after, i was so scared.
but now i know the car is stable at that speed, and no more shakey feet. 130 feels smooth.

the second time was much relaxing for me, but i still didn't took it up to 150+ because there will always be that image of me crashing my previous 328CI.
i seriously thought i was going to die when i had crash my 328CI. it was like slow motions and my memories of 18 years flash right before me, luckly a light pole prevented the car from flipping over. from the picture that i took after the crash the car doesn't look so bad but i just can't imagine what IF that light pole wasn't there. it may sound stupid but that's how i feel now.

2001 C240 6spd
2001 C240 - 132 mph in 6th gear. I was wondering if I could get a little more in 5th. Tariq got 246km/h in his 2002 c240 - approximately 150mph(if my calculation is right) - probably with no limiter. I know you can order MB cars without the limiter - but not sure if this is a US option. I believe it is available in Europe and other countries. How nice would that be if you could order your AMG with no limiter. Just scary!

Tariq... dude, I hope you weren't taking those pics yourself although it looks like you have!! ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
You can see your fuel gauge going down slightly as you took the photos!!

I'm really impressed with Tariq's 246 kph! I'm still not sure I can believe a C240 can go that fast!
I don't know how fast I've ever gone in my C32 - An F150 Lightning was staying alongside as I eased up to 95 mph or so and I decided to downshift and punch it. Left him like we were doing 20! I estimate maybe I went up to maybe 130 but I forgot to look at the speedo! This was on an interstate at night, and I was scanning for cops!
Not many places in Dallas to go fast without getting caught.

C32 AMG
I've taken this car up to 150mph one hand on the wheel. Car is extremely stable and i'm pretty comfortable at those speeds. The fastest i've gone is 173mph (different car of course) so it is nothing new to me. I've topped 130 on a banked turn.

Tariq's euro-spec (ungoverned) 246kph (152.5mph) at +46C (114.8 degrees F) ambient temperature is pretty insane. I imagine speed would be higher with lower temperature.
I hope these numbers were on a flat (paved) road... not some desert flatland.

I was about to say the same thing - 150mph and 115 freakin degrees! I about wet myself just looking at the photos. And JeT - there must be some correlation between 6000rpm and actually being able to see the fuel gauge decrease!

'02 C230K Coupe
So far I've only brushed 95 mph in my 2002 C230K trying to do some last-minute passing to make a freeway exit. The problem for me is, driving California highways make me paranoid when pressing past 80-85. Even when driving open highway at 1AM, I'm so scared I'll get caught that I'll slow down whenever I spot a pair of unidentified taillights or headlights. I have yet to find its true limit.
Also, would the ungoverned C230K yield results somewhat more than Tariqs (~150 mph) since it's SC version of just about the same engine?

![Question](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Ok, who knows the answers;
1. Does the C230 have a governer???
2. With the governer disabled will it have an adverse effect on the vehicle???
3. At high speeds (over 140mph) does the vehicle still handle the road without any problems??
