I hope not too. Keep in mind, Mercedes C55s are part of the 500 series Mercedes. That's the best. Can't possibly get much better than that unless you go to a Rolls Royce.

I dont think you could be more wrong. My Mercedes and BMW products have been far superior and more reliable than any Japanese car I have ever owned. 2003 Accord had more issues than a Ford Pinto, 2004 TL was bought back, and 2005 TL has some Navi problems which should be fixed next week.

Japanese are just as unreliable as any other car.

the middle part of it looks like it's from an old car. Sorry guys, it's one of the FIRST things I look at in a car is if I like the steering wheel at first sight. Why? It's because more than anything, it's what I'll spend a lot of my time staring at. That and the instrument cluster. Just HATE the steering wheel on the IS250/IS350. Another one I hate is the G35/FX35. I know it sounds odd but it's a big thing for me.

The new Ferrari 599 actually doesn't have a navigation system.

That's just a TFT display. The 612 has that as well. I have access to the Ferrari Owner's website and thus am able to obtain all Ferrari model owner's manuals and that's how I stay informed.

I like the Ferrari's interior, notice the stitched leather everywhere.

I've test driven the 2004 and the 2005 Infiniti G35, while the steering wheel didn't bug me, I still have to say the Mercedes steering wheel is much better. Same with the IS, the steering wheel didn't bug me but that one did take some getting used to.

Going back to the Infiniti steering wheel, the switches and buttons on the steering wheel weren't backlit in the 2004 model! They corrected that for the 2005 update.

I wouldn't say that I hate those steering wheels, but they're definitely not what I consider "great" steering wheels. The Mercedes steering wheel is sublime.

Ferrari and Rolls Royce make the best cars period. Naturally, if you want to go for the best, go for it. I'll get the Rolls when I'm closer to the $100 million net worth (I've got a long ways to go).

Best cars for the money however are probably Mercedes and BMW, and as we can see, the Lexus is also very good for the money. I really wouldn't go for anything less than that.

I have the 2005 C230 Kompressor. They're backlit on mine. I am quite sure that the 2006s are as well. Try fiddling with the trip odometer reset button which if you turn is also the light intensity switch. They should be backlit.

Although I've never driven the Phantom personally, I am assured that it's not any more difficult to drive than a normal S-Class Mercedes.

Yes, it is somewhat showy. But still, car-wise, it is phenomenal. You've got the performance, the handling, the luxury. I never considered any Mercedes car to be luxurious. Even the S600 to me was bare bones. But the Phantom, that's fairly luxurious. Mercedes is very functional. The Phantom... well, it's everything. And for that kind of money (it's about triple an S600) it better be 3 times as good.

All of the above is true, but it comes down to personal preference. If (When) I have an absurd amount of money Im going to have the Ferrari, Continental GT, and such, but not the Phantom. I've been in one, they are amazing, still VERY showy.

Maybe you are right. But if you google "599 GTB navigation system" you'll see a whole bunch of websites suggesting that the 599 GTB has a GPS navigation system.

I wouldn't presume to tell you what you should or should not do, but seriously, if you were to ever come to a Mercedes car meet, you might be the only person there with a manual transmission. I have to admit, I'm not the greatest manual driver. Yes, you can laugh at me.

Otherwise, apart from the fact that I have the 200 series, our car are spec'd rather similarily. We both have the lighting, sunroof, and entertainment package. I really wanted the fold down rear seat but they didn't have one in stock and I didn't really order my car with that.

Try googling the 612 navigation system. I came up with a few hits as well. Although I'm currently in the owner's manual and I don't see anything that suggests a navigation system.

I'm quite certain that the 599 doesn't, but it is possible that in the European countries it might have one. 612 might have one as well. But I'm relatively certain that the US 612 version doesn't have the navigation system.

Besides, look at the car closely, and you'll see that it'd be very difficult to enter in navigation details and directions and addresses into the car. There's no keypad.

LOL, I agree, it is a terribly fast car. I would be one of the few people stupid enough to buy a 612 Scaglietti. Most people stay away from 4 seater Ferraris since they depreciate so quickly. But that car is just so practical.

Ferraris are arguably more practical than Porsche 911s because they actually have a larger front trunk. The 12 cylinder Ferraris can all carry a set of golf clubs.

More practical minus the fact you can buy 2 Turbos (or more) for the price of a 612. But yeah they are amazing. My best friend's dad owns a Ferrari/Porsche/Maserati/Audi dealer...
