Which car to get
Volvo's nice except for torque-steer. How much is the T5? I'll have to look it up...
IS300 = nice but...cramped!! No elbow room. And I'm talking from the ****pit of an MB C230K SC... and the cheap trunk hinges, hood prop rod, and no folding rear seat = no practicality. My Sportscoupe has more room.
BMW? Below the 330i - no dice. Same goes for the C240. If you can stretch a bit more, the 330 or C320 are definitely the classiest way to go!
Did you see the new Saab 9-3? Now you're talking... I'd be interested in the Vector model which will be available later than the base and mid-level models... worth the wait?
Don't seem to like Audi, huh? Oh well - as if there weren't enough choices. But how about the Passat GLX V6 4motion? That's GOT to be the most Bang/$ anywhere in the animal kingdom!?
A few of youse have said it: Drive all of them, unless you're in love with a particular automobile, like me - I bought the C230K without a test drive. Love at first sight, and no regrets!
1. A4
2. C240 (330 would be no. 2)
3. 325
4. S60
5. IS300
6. G35

Having driven a 325 for the last year and a half - I've had absoutely zero problems or reliability issues, but every manufacturer makes lemons from time to time. The inline sixes (325 or 330) are pretty amazing in terms of smoothness, acceleration, etc.
I haven't driven a C240, but had the 6-speed been out when I got my 325, it would definitely have been on my list.
Like others have posted, the new A4 is also worth considering. I had a 1.8T for about 6 years and really enjoyed it.
Either way - just go drive 'em and make the call.
