Does anyone here know, if a C7 wheel 225/45/17 clears the front calipers of a 05+ model? i already pm'd several people that might have known it, without any success, and unfortunatly the only one who DOES know for sure hasnt visited this board for about a month now.

i want one for a full-size spare and can get one for an awesome price, but wont help me much if it doesnt clear the caliper.

 

The C7's clear the C32 brakes (what I have on my car), so I don't see why there would be an issue with the '05+

 

why would you want to put c7's on your 05?
the 05s look way better


unless youre just using it for a full size spare...

 

i keep reading about them ... but im not sure - are they the same ones? guess i gotta buy it and try fitting it on

 

The C7's will NOT clear your 05 or AMG brakes. I had C7s on my 2003 C230 SS. But upgraded to C32 BBK, and it will not clear. You will need either C32 AMG rims or other aftermarket rims with an offset that clears it. Hope that helps.

 

2003 C Class still had the tiny calipers, the 2005 one had the bigger calipers and rotors and the funnel 5 spoke rims. So if you have a 2003 C Class C7's will fit but if you have a 2005 and up it will not clear.

 

Maybe you had different wheels, or got different brakes... but I've got the AMG brakes and C7's on my car right now.

 

Funny, cause I tried and mine did not clear. I had the C7's too, the ones that came with the 2003 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedans. So had to get C32 Rims when I upgraded. Wonder if the Coupe and Sedan has any difference in setup???

the C7 are staggered.. so make sure u got the correct wheels on the front!

 

Nope, not all of them are. I believe only (some) non-us spec ones are staggered. Mine are all the same...
