As I was taking my interior apart to run RCA signal cables, I ran across this little speaker and could not for the life of me figure out what it was for. Anyone out there have any ideas or knowledge of this? I hope you can read the print on the magnet, that may help. This is nothing urgent or earth shattering. I was just curious.

No problem. The only thing I can think of is it could be part of the SOS system or something. Hell, I don't know....this car is full of surprises!

 

that part number is something that is also used on an S class. as the part number starts with 220. I can't say for sure what that does but possibly a speaker used for the alarm system inside the car??

 

No alarm on my car and I do not have that speaker.

 

I bet it is the speaker for the car phone. On my girlfriend's mercs (SL500 and CL600) the speaker for the car phone is located in that area.

 

its this secret speaker used to spy on mb owners, when you F* up ur car, you'll hear "f*ing idiot, dumb *****" from the speaker, its crazy man.

lol I dont know...i dont think its the phone speaker. My ML's SPEAKER is actually the SPEAKERS.

I'ma ask MB parts tomorow since you got the part #, Im curious lol
