Hard starting wet
BTW, I STFFed "hard starting wet", and was surprised I didn't find anything (maybe I should try again on an "adult" site!). Anyway, the w203 doesn't want to turn over when it's raining, and I've been informed that, in lieu of ignition wires, I have coils and connectors at each cylinder. Any idea which is the likely culprit?

Man, you get rain? You are soooo lucky. We won't see rain for 6 months here and then we are so happy, we don't drive the car, we run in the rain....
As for what it can be, them old MBs have a pair of coil packs under the red cover. They eventually get hairline cracks. When moisture gets in there they don't seem to run, or start as well. Some people say that in the dark, you can see the sparks arcing around the cracks.

wow, sounds like the old days, with distributor caps! I remember being blown away with a mechanic's diagnostic ability when he sprayed my distributor cap with a water bottle to determine that THAT'S what I needed (I'm easily impressed, and it was a long time ago).
so, are you saying it's not the coil or the connector, but the red cover that needs replacing?

omg, I have this problem. The dealers claims the body repair work on the back is the cause, with the rain entering and destroying the electronics and some modulators. But the entire back is covered back there! No rain can enter and if it did, there are plastic bags that protect everything under the body just in case.
Please explain what I should be looking for in layman's terms to help me find if this in fact is the cause of my problems. coils?(ignition i think) I have no idea what to look for and where.
