but I'm getting no where fast with days of searching.
The Factory Approved Service Product guides states that the fleece filter for an '05 C230 is 000 180 26 09. Well I have bought this filter from the dealer and online. While yes this is a fleece filter, it is the incorrect size for the filter assembly/housing for this car. See pic below.
So does anyone know the correct MB part # for the fleece filter?
Secondly, the MANN (HU 514x) & Hengst (E38H D106) OEM versions listed alll seem to be paper elements. however, are they just as good as using a fleece or no?

Have you tried just calling the local MB dealer and asking someone in the parts department?
As expensive as the service at most dealers are, I have found that their parts department gives very accurate information about part numbers...
good luck....

they show as a replacement for the car. So I showed him the verbage in the FASP and mentioned the tag on the engine compartment aboutt he fleece. Talk about a deer in the headlights.
