Problem with AC – Driver's side Heater Activated
Hi, I have a 2005 C180K but the AC system should be the same as the C230SS.
My AC evaporator coil was recently replaced due to a leak. After the replacement, whenever the outside temperature drops below 27degC ( 81degF) the driver’s side heater is activated. The passenger temperature remains cold. Both passenger and driver’s AC temperatures are set to 22degC (71degF). I can easily replicate this by spraying chilled water onto the outside temperature sensor to bring the outside temperature down to 27degC, then the driver's heater gets activated (hot air from vent).
The dealer is at a loss as to what to do. Any suggestions on the cause and how to rectify this? Thanks.
