Mercedes is gone physically, but still in my heart.
I've done springs on all my cars, not because I'm cheap but because I don't feel the need to have a racecar worthy suspension on a car I'm driving daily. I've put just as many miles on my aftermarket springs and had no more shock wear than I would on a stock set up.
My friend had a twin turbo Mustang with 470rwhp, that car needed coilovers as an upgrade to handle the power. In that case I understand the suspension upgrade. I simply don't see the need for anymore if you just want a simple one time drop. True the Tein is only $850ish, but then you need install and alignment which could run you up over $1100. For my H&R springs/install/alignment it cost me $550. I dunno, it's just my opinion.
