Question for Miami / South Florida Members about Service

Well the time has come for Service A. I want to know where to take the car, BIll Ussery or Mercedes Benz of Miami. Have any of you guys been to either of them? Any good or bad stories? How much am I going to pay for this glorified oil change? Any input is greatly appreciated !

Nice sled! I especially like the wheels.

Where did you buy the car? You might want to bring it back "home" for its first service. I know this doesn't necessarily help you but I have had good experiences at MB of Pompano (used to be Autohaus) - Copans Rd. & I-95. I've heard bad things about MB of Palm Beach. Haven't heard either way on MB Miami or Ussery Motors other than Ussery has been around forever and generally has a good reputation.

I haven't had it done on my '06 C280 yet but I believe MB of Pompano charges somewhere around $250 an 'A' Service.

How do you like you C? I LOVE mine. Drove to Orlando on business today. 200 miles of smooth, solid and comfortable driving. And 31MPG at 78MPH avg!I'm heading home on Wednesday and am looking forward to the drive that I used to dread.

Thanx for the reply Barry. I bought it at Bill Ussery. I guess i will just take it there since they are right down the street. I have not heard anyhting bad about them so no news is good news I guess. I love the car. Just wish it had more power. Nothing a few mods cant fix! Cheers !

I have worked for a small/medium highline auto dealer in Miami for 6 years. I have always had the best service from Mercedes Benz of Miami. Ask for Sol in service, he is the best. Since you bought your car from Bill Ussery, they will also give you great service, however, they have limited space (for service cars). Therefore they tend to be more picky about accepting non-customer cars. I have had several complaints re: their willingness to service Mercedes Benz cars that were bought elsewhere. I have recently relocated to Pompano Beach and now take my C320 to Mercedes Benz of Pompano (formerly Autohaus) and they are great. They handle a high volume of service cars and do it in a very professional manner.

As for my C320 I love it. I bought it 3 weeks ago. It is a Brilliant Silver with Charcoal Leather 2001 C320. Sport package, COMAND, Heated Seats, Sunroof pkg, Xenon headlamps, 6 CD, 17" wheels. It has 87,000 miles but is in perfect condition. I paid $13,800 for it. I drive 20,000 miles a year and plan on taking it to PA, WI, and NY this summer.

Congrats Phlyer. Have fun touring the USA in your MBZ.

I agree with your assessment of MB of Pompano. BTW, when you go for service ask for John Clark. He is a former service manager and really knows his stuff.

What brand or brands does your dealer represent?

Finally, if you want an aux input for your iPod/MP3 or for sat radio, be sure to check out Sawloo's thread. Try this link https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w203/81978-diy-setting-up-aux-input-ipod-mp3-player-etc.html . If the link doesn't work, you can find it using the search tool.

Thanx barrykaye, I already have the AUX input thanks to the previous owner. My C320 was previously owned by a MB employee and it has been very well cared for, and it seems to have all the MB offered upgrades/options.

My next mod will be for the Timeport phone kit with voice control (installed in my C320 but not being used). I am hoping MB will offer a bluetooth retrofit for the Timeport like they do for the V60.

The dealer I work for is independent (not franchised), we sell mostly MB, BMW, and Porsche. But we also dabble in Land Rover, Ferrari, Bentley, Lamborghini, Lexus, Cadillac and other makes. Mostly highline.

I think you want a "bluetooth puck." There are numerous threads on this one. It snaps into the cradle where you would normally put the Motorola V60 and gives you full connectivity (address book and all) with almost any bluetooth phone. I think you can get the part at MBZ although I do not know how much it costs.

I don't have the built-in phone kit. I am waiting for Argos to release their bluetooth kit for '05-'06 C Class. They already have it for '04 & older and the user reviews have been great.
