Roll Fenders?

I know this must be a stupid question but what does rolling your fenders mean? Why would need to do this and if I purchased some Lorinser LM5' in 19x8.5 and 9.5 would I have to do this or would they fit?

Rolling the fender means turning the fender lip up inside the wheel well. On my coupe the top portion of the rear quarter panel is already rolled, but could probably be rolled tighter. The front is not rolled, but the front wheel arches are higher than the rear and you would use narrower tires on the front. I don't know if you would need to roll the fenders with those wheels.
