As long as we are discussing this, what would you have to do to hook up an amp and a sub to the stock mercedes system (no nav no bose). I've been kinda considering putting in 1 but i never really knew wut kind of troubles i would neeed to go through.

I'm not the best qualified person to say but, I'd get a llc, patch it through the existing sub wires into my new amp. Hook the new amp up properly for power. Hook up the sub to the amp properly. And start bumping :)

I like the basslink in my coupe... it works well
It also works well in a C sedan as long as you want just a little thump. If the basslink distorts then you should recheck the connections to where ever the sound is coming from... It does not hit the very low "deep bass" like a 15''sub.. i have never heard a 10'' sub (or multiple 10'' subs) get as low as a 12'' or 15'' sub. It still is enough to enough to rattle the car anyways. enough for the "addition" of bass...but not enough to annoy the cars around you. fk |
r3v1ls:
I dont remember the system in the non bose coupe... if the sub is in the trunk, it should be hidden by the pannel on the right side. If u poke ur head in hte trunk and with a flash light.. on top of the sub is there should be a bundle of wires... there is your sound source for adding a sub. The power line is a little more tricky... that takes a little effort to run to the front of the car. ~fk |
Thx for all the info everyone, it sounds a lot easier then i thought it would be. Firstkill thanks for the info, but the coupe without bose doesn't even have a sub to begin with  . I just want to add a sub to the OEM system that doesn't even have a sub to begin with.

r3v1ls:
is there a removable pannel on the right side of the trunk? whats back there? THe bose doesnt have a "subwoofer" on paper.. its actually a woofer according to bose :hammer: fk |

Line level and high level are the same thing! The term used by the amp companies is usally Line Level meaning the speaker line. Just a little friendly FYI!
|
Wrong
I was debating whether of not to get involved here, but this last post clenched it. Line level and high level are complete opposites. Line level signals are the ones found travelling over RCA cables (or XLR, if you're dealing with balanced line level), and relay audio signal as DC voltage. High level is, in fact, speaker level, which carries amplified signals in the form of AC voltage (which is why speaker wire contains two equal pieces of wire, like a lamp in your home - and the line level looks more like the cables that carry DC voltage in your home, coming from those wall wart transformers. Now, there are some amplifiers that have built-in sensors to detect if you have a high, or speaker-level signal coming into your amplifier and try their best to convert it to a line level for the amplifier circuit, but it's really not the best choice.

Ok, well than I stand corrected... Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go beat up the man who taught me everything I know about amps for being an idiot... You would have thought you could trust a man who sells this stuff for a living and builds competition systems... But I guess these days you can barely trust your own brother!

Obviously your brother has been using the wrong terminology. Mistakes happen.

Instrumental Cluster Daylight Saving Time
am having a problem since i have the Euro comand system u have to move the clock up for daylight saving time........... well my problem is that the cluster is not giving me the option to change the time i read thru the manual no HELP.....
IT SAY 1. SETTING CAN BE SET AT A STANDSTILL BLAH BLAH BLAH PUSH THE UP BUTTON 2. "SETTINGS" INSTRUMENTAL CLUSTER 3. MINES GO DIRECTLY TO "24/12 CLOCK" DOES NOT GO TO "SET TIME" CAN SOMEONE HELP ME PLEASE HELP |
I'm having the same issue, gotta dig out the manual for the COMAND and see what's up. It appears that the time is setting from the satellites, but it has not changed yet. If I go into SYS on the COMAND the only thing that I can change is the minutes.

With the satelite icon displayed in the time setting menu - you can set the time per 30 minutes at a time... greetingz, |

Help Do You Guys .....
do you guys think i should get my wheel Powder Coated black ..well just the star/spokes and keep the chrome lip
does anyone have a software where they can edit my picture by painting the wheels and repost them for me please thanks you |
Itll look nice I remember seeing simlar rims(thicker spokes though) that were powder coated black with 2.5 inch chrome lip
|
In my opinion if you powder coat your wheels black then might as well get rid of the silver(?) stripe down side of the car
|
what have you done to your car!!!! :beat:
|
it came like that hmm maybe i should get rid of the strip wonder if it will come off without leaving a mark
