car has developed a deeper rumble
i think the 230kompressor engine has broken in nicely and has developed a nice low rumble. very pleasing. not that i'm saying its a bmw I-6 (i stand corrected, DCX) vrooom, but still, i think it sounds better now than before. 
anyone else notice?

That would be an I-6 varoom. My brother has a 2001 325 5-speed that drives and sounds great, but I don't get an employee discount on the Bimmer like the Benz.

right now, i have about 3500 miles but the engine was broken in before - that is, i waited til 1000miles before i did anything crazy like driving over 55mph

If you like it at 3500 miles, you'll like it even better at 7,000 miles. The V6 in my sedan keeps getting stronger and more fuel efficient by the day. I understand this is a characteristic of all MB motors. By 20000 miles, I should be able to smoke a C32 AMG (LOL!)

Under 55mph? You'ld get run over here unless you were in a 25mph zone or something or an excessively crowded parking lot, or you own driveway. I miss those days, when I can ride my bike at speeds that don't try to rip the helmet off my head.

BROKEN IT YET
YES our c coupe is BROKEN IN cause after several DYNO pulls
at 800 miles to get the before readings on the stock set up
and after the holidays its BACK to the DYNO with new SOFTWARE
LOOKING FOR 40HP? and then the cold air kit and rear muffler
and a oil change MOBIL ONE!! for the final DYNO pull for ?
