Considering a C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan...
As you can see, I'm currently driving a Supercharged car already, but after recently being promoted at work and now being able to afford a Benz, can you guys suggest anything to look out for when searching for a used 2003-2004 C230 Kompressor Sport Sedan? Any known issues or model years with more problems? Any options you'd suggest to stay away from?
And after those, how about upgrades? What is the current pulley size and can it be upgraded? can it be pcm/chipped? any special intakes? Track times (1/4mi times)?
Convince me that this is a wise idea... I really like the Supercharger and want to stay with another, not to mention I've been reading a LOT of great reviews on the excellent gas mileage, would you guys agree?
Thanks in advance... --Mike

I doubt that you'll be happy with the performance going from your supercharged V6 GTP to a supercharged I4 sedan. Don't get me wrong, I love Benzes, and the C Class sedan is indeed a nice car. I just think you'd be a lot happier with the performance of a C32.

They are no longer supercharged, last year was 2005 and it's very expensive to do pulley kits on these cars with very little ROI. Think thousands, not hundreds and think 10HP increases, maybe, not what you are used to. The 1.8l engine with the Eaton S/C is near it's max. With that said, I love my C230 SS, can't think of another car I would rather have for day to day driving. I would also engine a new Mustang GT convertible but realistically, the C230 is a better car for day to day driving, comfortable, great gas mileage, reasonably peppy (about 7.5 0-60), good looks inside and out and best of all, at least in The O.C., free car washes (btw, where I am right now, connected to the dealers wifi, having cofee and croisant waiting for my full service car wash, all for free).

I think speed wise your GTP will win. You'll get quite disappointed with the c230k ss performance compared to ur supercharged gtp.
