OBDII location -c240

My gas cap jammed on me and prevented me from screwing it back on. I did some searches after reading this is a common MBZ problem and fixed the cap. I now have a "check engine" light that needs to be reset as a result of driving without the cap. I understand from doing some searches that an OBDII scan will remove the check engine light. My previous searches on this subject lead me to believe that the OBDII location is at the "steering column." Could someone verify this? Is it in the dash near the steering column? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Dave

That happened to me as well. After reattaching it correct way, I just left it alone for couple days and it went away. Try waiting for a while

It's right behind the parking brake release lever with a small door that you snap open.
