So I Might Be Getting An 04.5 C230K SS

The guy's add is as follows:

2004 Mercedes C230 Sport Sedan: Rare 6 Spd Manual/39K Miles/White - $20999
2004 Mercedes Benz C230 Sport Sedan. 6 Spd Manual Transmission, White with Grey Leather Interior, Power Moonroof, Power Rear Sunshade, 6 CD Changer, 17" Factory Sport Wheels and Tires, Under Factory Mercedes Benz Warranty and NO CHARGE SHCEDULED MAINTENANCE To 50K miles or 12/07. This is a One-Owner, California Car that has been garaged since new, never in an accident, never smoked in, and is truly in great shape. Primarily used for freeway driving and car gets 28+MPG. Great Price - Serious Only, Please.

I checked kbb.com and it said with mileage and everything, price with mileage and options on "Excellent Condition" stated $20,820 [but kbb.com also states "Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category."]. But given the fact that the car [based on mileage] has the pre-exsisting workload of nearly 2-4 years already, shouldn't that be some sort of leverage for negotiating or agreeance on pricing, especially for private party? KBB said at "Good Condition" is $19,630. Im not knocking what the guy has. I think its a great price for the year and all. However, the mileage for the price is I think a little too much.

You guys have any input on this? Any other things I should ask for aside from me getting my own vehix/carfax report and ask for all service papers / vehicle records. What would be a fair price for this to offer?

price is a little high, i purchased a 2004 c230k last week. Almost the same as yours except for 29k on the miles, automatic trani, and the extended 100K warranty. We ended up talking him down to 19K cash. I would negotiate more on the price, and i wouldn't give him excellent value on the vehicle but good value. There are many of these on the market, so be patient, are you in so cal? Reason i asked is because there was another vehicle i also liked but we didn't move on it because it didn't have the 100k warranty, if you interested let me know i can give you the info if it's not sold yet.
