Did I screw up my car's computer?
I followed the procedure to completely turn off the electronic stability progam (turn ignition to position 1, press and hold reset button until it beeps, press down on bottom menu button followed by +, then arrow up), but when we saw that it turned off the ABS, and seeing as how the roads were still a little wet, added to the fact that several "trouble codes" were popping up, we decided not to "play" any further. I don't really remember what I did to turn the functions back on, but the dash read "no malfunctions" and we went on our merry way. This was like 2 weeks ago. My wife just called and said se got flashing messages on the dash today that said that the ABS and ESP needed service. Damn! Did I screw something up?

Sounds unrelated to me. Take it to the dealer, though.
But first I would try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if this would rectify the situation (if you do - don't forget to resynchronize windows/sunroof/ESP afterwards - read manual for details ).

The original directions for Dyno mode said that turning everything off and removing the key would reset everything to default upon a restart. No need to disconnect the battery. There was a fix also if it didn't reset. Here's the link to the thread...

Twice, after long distance driving of 300+ miles I got error messages on the multi-function display that brake assist and ESP needed attention. The car's multi-function display ordered me to "visit the workshop." I stopped the car for five-ten minutes, turned off the ignition and the error codes disappeared. I'm beginning to think this has something to do with overly-hot brake rotors.
