Winter tires/wheels

I am having a tough time trying to find matching front/rear winter tires for my '06 C230 Sport Sedan. The problem is in the rear tire size. Is there any harm in going to a non-staggered setup for all four corners for a winter wheel/tire setup? I can find plenty of winter options for the front tire size, but none that match the rear (which are few to none to begin with).

If I cannot find matching front/rear snows for the stock rims, I do not mind going to a dedicated wheel/tire combo for the winter if you can get away with the same size for front & rear, given the stock staggered setup.

I would like to be able to drive this car in winter weather and/or colder temps w/o fear of the summer-only tires providing a bobsled/deathride experience.

Cheers!

just go 225/45's all around - skinnier tires are better in the snow anyway. 225's will also fit on the 17x8.5" rear rim.

What he said. Wider wheels increase teh likelihood of hydroplaning/sliding etc. Go with equal width wheels all around and call it a day

Currently on foot.
As long as they're all the same diameter (Height) so as not to screw up sensors, etc., you'll be fine.

Thanks, e1000!! It did not even occur to me that 225/45's would fit on the wider rear rims. I guess it is only an extra 1/2", though (duh!).

Thanks again & I appreciate everyone's feedback!

Cheers!
