Proving, once again, that dealers are unreliable, I was told that any Mercedes color could be ordered on any Mercedes vehicle; if a color wasn't standard on a particular model, it could be special ordered for an extra grand plus the premium, if any, for the paint itself.
Nevertheless, being a cheapskate, I of course opted for the "free" white paint.

I think it's priced as the other metallics e.g. Paprika.
Check with your local authorized Mercedes Benz pusher, er, dealer.
Rick, do you have a link to pictures of the Designo interiors? I would like to see them. The "Build Your Own" page doesn't show them, yet.
In addtion, it seems to me that nobody in Miami is ordering C7 package, which I want. However, it would be nice if I would be able to test drive it first, before I subject my kidneys to excesive shaking and bumping, if the suspension will be really sport-tuned... maybe someone could advise me, whoever had a chance to test both sport and non-sport suspensions.
Thanks.

I was not impressed with the look of wheels nor with any other part of the C7 package. Actually, the only thing that I liked in there were the aluminum pedals, but I believe that $750 for them is a little bit too steep. So I will have to rethink my order.
Now, as to the short-throw shifter, when I drove the regular, non-C7 manual, I liked the shifter very much, so I really do not know how much the shorter shifts would improve my feelings about the C7 package. Please, share your experiences with me (you can find my e-mail in my profile, so you do not waste any of the board's bandwidth; however, I believe that your answer would be very applicable to others with the same dilemma, so let it be your choice how to answer). Thanks.
You are one of the few people who are not disappointed with the feel of the non-C7 6 speed. I thought it was vague and rubbery. The C7 is much more precise and feels more directly connected to the transmission.
Since you are happy with the feel of the longer throw shifter, and the rest of the C7 package isn't of any interest to you, I would recommend that you save the $750.
I suggest you try to get the input of renncpe. He works for an MB dealer and might be able to get the numbers you want. He also might be able to estimate how much it would cost to have a dealer install the short throw shifter if you decide to add one later.
