Concentric Ridges/Grooves on Brake Rotor

Are these ridges normal? They seem to be pretty deeply inscribed, do I need new rotors?

Look how the rings/ridges coincide with the edge of the holes.

Good eye! Canon 20D with 17-40 F4L, taken at ISO800, F5.6, 1/30 exposure.

Yes, when the pads are at the wear limit.

Man, car only has 17,000 miles, and I already need new rotors? Any suggestion for better rotors? Brembos? Zimmermans? Stoptechs?

Some people go through them quicker, some later, depends on your driving style and environment. I think drilled rotors are wasted on street use, although some think they 'look' nice. I switched to Porterfield pads and the pads and rotors lasted 70K miles? Are your pads worn out? Has a wear indicator tripped yet?

No, the pad sensor hasn't tripped yet. This is my wife's daily driver, and she's a pretty passive driver (you know, typical Asian lady drivers..). I usually drive it on the weekend, since she avoids driving whenever she can, and with the price of gas these days, it's more economical to drive the MBZ than the Audi. Hard to imagine that they would wear out so quickly. I noticed the ridges while cleaning the rims. But I am considering changing the Porterfields anyway, so when the iForged goes on this weekend, I wouldn't have the clean them as often.
