Quick Help needed: Rear SAM, seat modules, DIY!?

Hello everyone - I need your quick advise. My rear SAM and my control seat modules have to be replaced. Have any of you guys done this yourself? I have the parts but the stealership is you know... stealing me. I'm not sure if I should give it a try or just 'cry once'. Appreciate any feedback from you guys.

You can change it yourself. Where did you get the replacement sam modules. Where they from a 2005 car? If so then you may have a problem with the rear shade. Both modules are easy to replace. All the connectors are different so you can't really mess anything up.

Thanks sunman. For the parts, I first called all four dealerships in the Houston area. Prices slightly varied but not much. Then I called a friend of mine and he gets 20% off b/c he works at an auto parts store…. not good enough. Lastly I called a guy that manages a collision repair facility and all they do is European cars… this shop was recommended by the dealership when we had an accident on a VW Touareg. He told me the prices that I wanted to hear and didn’t hesitate and order everything the same day. I’m replacing both control seat modules, the rear SAM is supposedly blown and my windshield got cracked. All parts came about $1K…

The dealership wasn’t very happy about this… but, I told then to give me a decent quote on installing everything and they said $500 to install the windshield, both control seats, the rear SAM and reset the whole thing (I guess I needed to do this anyway). At $125/hr for an “AMG expert” to look at parts that all C-classes have, I thought it was a decent number and I went ahead and did it… they also gave a brand new 07 C230 w/ 60 miles on it as a loaner… very nice for a basic model. The sales price to the dealer was $27K, they had an allowance trade-in of $25K, only paid taxes on $2K and the car has a window sticker of $33K… FYI how much of a flip they are doing…
