Question about Smartkey
Does the C230 come standard with the Smartkey that has the
panic button on it ? Or must you order the "security package"
to get this feature ? I realize there may be a difference in
how this model is "packaged" for the Canadian market vs the
US market since I have heard the security option is standard
in the US. I am in Canada.

I think the security system comes with the car
A friend just got his C230 and the smart key came with it. He didnt order any special security system. I think the security is part of the package now which is great for your insurance and makes the alarm as an integral part of the build process. Those aftermarket things always seem to have some issues down the road.

Something to keep in note, is that in Canada the security/alarm feature is an option, it is standard in the U.S. Of course, you guys pay A LOT LESS for the car to start with.

Hmm, the keys may different in Canada. I noticed that for the C-coupe, there isn't the red panic button on the smart key if you didn't order the alarm. This wasn't the case for my c-sedan, it had the red panic button, although nonfunctional.
