Eibach Sway Bars installation

First, I would like to thank Drex for helping me through this set up. Without him, the installation would not have worked out correctly. THANKS DREX!!!!

Got Eibach sway bars, 24 mm in the front and 22 mm in the rear. Additional parts needed for the installation was the AMG Brackets ( #A 203 323 1140 and #A 203 323 1240). The Auto Leveling Sensor is not needed, the stock can be reused.

Sway bar was installed by TWS. Only problem they encountered was that the front sway bar end link was too small, they had to drill the hold a little bigger.

Now, to clarify all 2005-2006 model C class sport sedan if they have the AMG sway bars. NO, THEY DO NOT. We measured my 2005 C-Class stock sway bar at 22 mm in the front and 16 mm in the rear.

After doing some research, I think it is best to buy Eibach sway bar for the rear (22 mm) and H&R sway bar for the front (26 mm). I believe these are the biggest size available for front and rear.

Also, another thanks to Frank and John for the Eibach .

Yes, I do feel a difference. Maybe not so big of a difference because I already have Tein Super Street Coilovers. But enough to feel the difference. However, when pushing the car to its limit on short 90 degree turn, it has a greater tendency to fish-tail.

How much were the AMG brackets? and why exactly did you need them? Do you know the size of the AMG sway bars? (i discovered the same thing you did, h&r has the biggest front sway bar and eibach has the biggest rear sway bar).

tia!

The bushing for the AMG bar and the stock is very different from the stock bar and bushing. Eibach modeled thier urethane bushing after the AMG version, so you need the AMG bracket. Believe me, I went through this myself! Although Eibach (at least in the USA) knows this as I talked to them through the whole process and provided them with the correct AMG brackets and part numbers, so that hopefully people wouldn't still have this problem. Obviously they don't car so much?!

I was planning on getting H&R bars. Does anyone know if they require AMG brackets as well?

nope. H&R bars use the stock brackets. get the front one w/10mm, not the 12mm.

The AMG C32 sway bar went from 23mm to 22mm in the front. There are two versions and the second version is thinner. So if your car has 22mm at the front then it is in fact equivalent to AMG in the front.

By any chance would you know what size are the AMG rear sway bars?

Here is the problem. The AMG rear design is similar but not entirely identical to other W203.

You are correct in assuming that it is not the same part number in the sports package as it is in the AMG setup but that may reflect the mounting points, clearance height and equipment carrier / chassis construction.

However the rear does not contribute a large amount to roll.
