Another reason car is rough in idle

Recently been noticing that when coming to a stop my car would start to shudder/rough idle. I had searched the site and found that faulty motor mounts could be the culprit so I took it into the dealer. The dealer ran DAS and found some faulty codes dealing with the gas pedal rather than the motor mounts. They told me that what had happened was somehow the accelerator (whose system apparently is entirely electronic) gave faulty sensor readings and therefore when the car came to a stop the computer was "searching for idle" according to my service tech. Anyway they replaced the gas pedal and all seems fine now.

Also the tech said that there was new software available which they put in, anyone know of this (and what difference it makes?)

On a side note, I had a replacement E350 for a loaner and can say I reallly liked some of the features in that car (really liked the reading lights mounted underneath the rear view mirror so when they turn on, don't feel like you're blinded by them like the traditional roof mount). This loaner had Nav DVD but to be honest I liked the Euro Comand I have in my car (put in by Steve) better. For one thing I liked the english accent and the directions didn't appear to be halting like in the DVD system. Also I liked that there was a direct button to zoom in/out on my COMAND rather than have to press additional buttons to get to it. I do admit the larger screen size is much nicer in the E class.

Sounds like the throttle position sensor which MB calls the pedal travel sensor. At least it wasn't more serious like motor mounts. The E350 is a nice car but it's sort of a grandpa car and I'm just not quite there yet.
