Draining the oil
Hey guys...wanted some feedback on DIY for service. I've done a search but for some reason its not giving me any responses....
Okay i want to do the oil change + filter + a/c filter
Now i know some cars dont have a drain for the oil and you have to pump it out....? is that true for the C230K SS? and where is the a/c filter located?
i'm also gonna do the brakes w/rotors in the front and my wiper blades...i'm okay on doing those myself...
as far as teh oil change i'm worried about no drain plug...can soemone give me a rundown on this?
Thanks guys![Cheers](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/cheers.gif)

I'm changing my oil today (Mobil 1 Syn 0w-20 of course), so I can let you know exactly how many quarts it takes.
I'll be keeping an eye on this thread.

do a search on the forum, I know someone did a good wirite up on the oil change, I followed that write up last time I did mine. the cabin filter is on the passenger side near the firewall, it might be on top of the battery, but it's on that vicinity, you'll have to remove a black plastic piece.

Yeah in an '05. Cabin filter is just above battery under the plastic cover. Very easy DIY
From what I hear on the oil change, u can do from top or bottom. Top is MUCH easier. Get an oil suction pump and just suck it out. That's what I do. Oil filter located near firewall on drivers side. You'll special tool to get the housing out. Think its 24 or 25 mm hex. Luckily my neighbor had some old tool that fits it perfectly. I usually dump 5.5qts of 0-40w Mobil 1 in there.
I'd highly recommend not going more than 5k tween oil changes. Although this car is touted as being long-life tween oil changes, thats only if you use a 0-40w Mobil 1 229.5 spec oil AND, and a fleece filter. Here's the crux of the problem, as of this summer...there is not a fleece filter for the 4 cyl M271 supercharged engine.
