If it was me everyone was referring to... I can say that I did too much at one time. I was trying to address the lean condition while running with the ported supercharger. In hindsight, I think adding the Boost-A-Pump is what killed my bottom end, not the ported supercharger. Even after replacing the ported Eaton with the stock piece, I had odd starting and a soggy bottom end. It was only after I removed the BAP that the car began to run normally. MB Engineers put a lot of redundancy into the cars and, in my experiment to overdrive the fuel pump, I think the car tried to preserve itself and pulled back fuel voltage and timing.

Sooooo... ported SC = Good. BAP on our cars with the hybrid return/returnless fuel system = bad.

Good to see you around, rtking.

Do you believe that larger injectors are a prudent next step for the modified M111 faithful?

Thanks Splinter! You'll be happy know that the C32 bars were put to good use today on a run up and down from Lake Arrowhead! I am extremely happy with how the car performed with those bars, Eibach springs, and wider 245/40-17 BFG G-Force KDW2 tires.

Given the circumstances C230 Sport Coupe, I'd get the used blower from eBay and send it to Stegemeier for porting/polishing. Or look on the internet as there are other folks who rebuild the Eaton superchargers. As others have stated, the install is pretty easy on M111 cars with the hardest part being the reconnecting of the intercooler hose.

Don't sweat when/if the supercharger fails. It's gradual unless something catastrophic happens. Even if the SC fails, you'll still be able to drive the car. It's not like you'd have to repair it immediately (unless it's the aforementioned "catastrophic" failure, which are very rare.)

Sadly I think the larger injectors may not work without some programming. I forget what research I did in figuring out the injector size, but the M111 uses a specific type of injector and the next larger size would cause the engine to run rich.

Wow, thats good to know.
I guess maybe I am being paranoid.
But I'm in between assignments right now, and it give me a little time.
I'm usually driving 20-25K miles a year, so I'm thinking dealing with this in advance while I have time, is better than waiting till later with no time, and
possible getting stuck.

RTking Yo! Glad you jumped in.
Well...this may be something I will have to try then, once I pull my existing SC. Though the thought occurs to me, if I want to go faster,
a faster car might be the better route!
I need reliability, and I'm looking towards crossing the 200K line with the original block and head in tow.

Here here to the 200k club. If I keep the car thats what I'm going for. Just gotta keep myself in check over the summer. A cruddy economy is helping out greatly.

Hey E, what do you think of the bored throttle body by itself, I haven't looked into injectors but my friend here in Vancouver has a bored TB, he might sell his car later this year and I'll probably pick it up.

Just an update, car's running great, better fuel Economy and you can feel the increase in power.

Yes, here I sit on this beautiful day, with nothing to do.
Well, I should say, no one to hang with.

Well, all I'd have to do is hop in the car and take a drive!
Head to the beach, see who's out and about.
And things will seem better....but at $65 to fill the tank, think I'll hang and have a margie till I get a return call from someone.

Now that being said, I was at a killer party yesterday, and tomorrow I see Marcus Miller. And I sit here staring out at the awesome view from my house. Bored out of my skull, (but lots of like work stuff I could do....nah...) Poor me.

UPDATE: Never mind. I'm heading to the beach.
Boredom vs. financial stress.
I'm outta here.

I like the way you think. Took in the Edelbrock charity car show with Johnny this morning, and enjoyed a stroll along the shore of the Pacific this afternoon with the Mrs...my creditors will have to wait.

Supercharger is still pumping 17 PSI. Knock wood.

Took a nice drive through Santa Cruz. 1st the westside, checked "the lane" (surf spot) then the harbor.
Dropped in a buddy who's recently with kid, after marrying a Brazilian woman 1/2 his age. They seem to be doing well, but I think he misses hanging with friends, as he's been calling a lot lately.
Hopefully seeing a buddy helped him a little.
I think the Mrs. is driving him a little batty.

The kid likes me. He was crying his eyes out till I got there, and then he was all smiles.

Came home, cooked marinated skirt steak from
the Corolitos meat market. Best skirt steak and handmade sausages in Norcal
http://www.yelp.com/biz/corralitos-m...any-corralitos.

Finally got the new SC paid for...my account info on PP was a mess.
Now it's all up to date, and "verified" my street address.

Cool It's finally here!

Yo!
I finally got the supercharger off ebay. It looks clean.
A close inspection of the torx screws doesn't show them being chewed up, and the gasket surfaces are very clean.
There's some goop between the snout and the body, not sure what that is?
It's viscous, not like a gasket sealer thats rubberlike.

But I'm a little concerned about this RETURN label on the box!

Anyone have an inside track on it's meaning?

You know what, I'm bumping this thread! I'm procrastinating from my trans issue, but I have 206k miles on my Kleeman single unit pulley.

Karo, your info is on the top of page 4.
