Dear MB professionals.

I recently bought my first Mercedes. It's a used 2001 C320 with 58K on the odometer when I drove away from the dealer. Two months later I noticed there was 113K on the odometer. (I live 1.5 miles from work) Upon closer inspection, the odometer continues to increase randomly 100-250 miles every couple of minutes. Help me please! What can I do?

 

Have the Mercedes dealership inspect your car. Let them test drive it. I'm sure it can be easily fix.

 

or pull a ferris bueller... drive it in reverse! lol

 

That's funny BadAss! My wife made that reference to Ferris Bueller. Seriously, do you think there may have been tampering? Or, if the problem existed before I bought it, it may have less miles and would affect the sale price. I'm pretty pissed about it.

I know there is a few companies that you can send your computer into that will "reset" your odometer to a lower reading. I also understand this is quite an inexpensive procedure and can be done within a few days. I read somewhere that they can do it to most any new car (including benz)... i wonder if you were a "test subject"

I JUST GOOGLED IT... WITHIN SECONDS I FOUND A COMPANY WHERE YOU CAN BUY THE COMPUTER TOOL TO DO IT ON A W203.

 

i have a land rover and one day that happened to me. scared me for a second but it was just because it was changed to km mode. maybe it could be that.
