Winter Setups
I'm really debating if i should get winter tires or not i know i will want them once it starts snowing hard as most of the time i am in upstate new york... does neone know where i can get some 16" steelies for the W203 that way if they get messed up i wont have to worry plus they are cheap
thanx

My winter tires are mounted on my stock rims (the 16" 5 split-spoke alloy wheel from 2002). I have Dunlop Winter Sport 3 tires, and I felt very confident on them last winter. I never drove in more than 4-6" of snow, but they behaved very predictably on snow/slush/ice in Michigan.
It might be just as easy to find a used set of those rims as finding a set of steel rims for the winter.

2002 C230 Coupe(M111)
It amazes me that this question still comes up.
YES, if you are going to be in snow, this car needs snow tires. 17"s and sport tires will go nowhere in the snow. I know from personal experience. A set of C240 rims are always easy to come by. Skip the steelies, they make the car look like complete ****.
