whistling noise coming from engine??
i have an '07 c230, and so far it had made no trouble since early-August, now after 1300 miles, my car is making a very irritating whistling noise from the engine, i opened my hood and he told me its coming from the belt area, i forgot the real name of it, anyways he said it's either the circular thing that the belt rotates on, or it's the belt itself, he has i believe a 95 Infiniti I35 and his was making the same noise, he said he replaced that circular thing and now it doesn't make that noise at all. What do you think the noise is coming from and why. My friend actually has a clk 350 '06, and his was making the same noise too, and he took it in to the benz dealer, and they said they had to replace something (he doesn't know which part), when he got the car back after the part had been replaced, his car is making the same noise as it did before the replacement. So i want your ideas, before I take it in to the dealer
greatly appreciated

My friend's truck had a belt that would squeel when it got too cold / wet out. He purchased a spray for the belt that helps keep the belt dry and the sound went away. Maybe the belt was replace on your friend's car.

i'll probably end up taking my car in to the dealer and have them fix the idler pully as they said under warranty, if i see that it still makes the noise i'll buy that spray you're talking about and see if that works.
thanks alot
