Disable Auto Shift?
I thought the only cars that would let you bounce off the rev limiter were the AMGs in sport mode??

Try this for know: reset your ecu with the ecu reset trick, put the car in manual mode, keep it on S setting, then go for a drive. Let the car do everythng else from there on. What I mean is let the car shift itself for you at the red line. Yes it will rev like crazy but you will have your power at that point. If you come to a light to soon put it back to first gear and start again. It will learn your new shift points. After all this you can put it back in automode and it should still know to shift at the red line. This is how my car is but then again I do have the agressive sprint booster.
goodluck!!!

video will be available on Youtube shortly!

But I prefer to keep it in Auto so I can talk on the phone with one hand, steer with my knee & smoke a cigar with the other hand.
Did you try reseting your dive-by-wire and then let the car shift itself in manumatic mode? That should bring the shift to the red line, in manumatic mode.
Step 1: Reset drive-by-wire
Step 2: Turn car on and put car in manumatic mode and turn ESP off
Step 3: Put setbelt on and drive it like you stole it. (What I mean is floor it while keeping two hands on the steering wheel, this way you wont be tempted to shift it when the car starts to whine like crazy)
Step 4: Your shift points will now be at the redline.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1-4 twice a month.
Good Luck

So when you say your car bounces off your rev limiter, does it eventual shift on its own or does the car just cut out?
Well I guess Mercedes has different setups for different models.
As far of an alternate method of driving I dont think there is one for these cars (Mercedes) otherwise the damn adaptive tranny will learn it!
Anyone want me to email them the video I made? I need someone to post it. It shows the behavior of the car, holding above redline until I manually tell it to upshift.
2. Press the gas pedal to the floor and hold for atleast five seconds.
3. Turn the key to the "off" position (don't remove the key), then release the gas pedal.
4. Wait at least two minutes for ECU to reset.
Enjoy!!
