Painted side marker question

Hi I remember seeing this thread before but I can't seem to relocate it. I was wondering when people paint their side markers what do they do about the light bulbs underneath?

Thanks!!!

It's granite grey. I've heard of people tucking them inside but I hear that can burn out the inners of the bumper or something along those lines.

is SOLD
you can wrap the bulb in foil or black electrical tape. i used foil when i had color matched bumper lenses and just used black electrical tape when i got euro impact strips. painting the bumper lenses should run you $40 to $50 at your local body shop.

when i had my 230 what i did was put a resistor on it - most ppl wil say it gets too hot and melt your bumper but this is what you do, you get one long enough to extend into the engine bay, then sick it down to a metal piece with high intensity tape and it will not melt anything. also, with the resistor you wont have any bulbs anyway so it wont harm your bumper and you wont get any errors - i had someone help me install this.
good luck.
