hey guys, i've been around for a little bit but haven't really posted much. just got a few new pictures so i thought i'd share some..enjoy.

Eclipse AVN5500

I don't like to change stereos, because then the steering buttons will not work

yeah too bad the buttons don't work =[ atleast the touch screen makes up for it. :p

Looks great but I think u can get an adapter to make it work. I know u can do that to Alpine but I am not sure about Eclipse.

I hardly ever use my steering wheel controls for my stereo...call me old school I guess.

Wait wait wait... what's this about an adaptor to make the steering wheel buttons work with Alpine units!? do you get display on the instrument console as well??

I've posted in several threads that you can keep the steering wheel buttons with some units. My steering wheel buttons work perfectly with my Pioneer AVIC-Z1

Once the adapter is install, the display on the cluster will work too.

Why does the head unit need to stick out like that? Is the stereo well too shallow?

is that a custom dash kit??? it does stick out. im pretty sure metra makes a dash kit of a double din and would look much cleaner. jlee has a z1 and has a double din dash kit.

planning on doing any other simple mods?

that CF lip looks great and i dont mind the eclipse either! i've never been a fan of anything thats not OEM for the dash but yours looks pretty good.

whats next?

can i suggest bix?

i cannot find the OEm new for that price. i saw a few on ebay used EURO spec ones for $1,200 but they dont come with the tv tuner or anything and they're used.
