Warning!!!!!!!!!!!

the jack that comes with the car is very unsafe, its is unstable and the wind could blow on the car and make it collapse (especially changing tires on the freeway with trucks going by).it happened to me today.thank god nothings broken, both the car and i. save yourself a limp or even a life by going to an auto store and spend like $30 on a 2 ton hydraulic jack, its small enough to fit spare tire compartment.please
i know im not the first person it has happened to because the design of it is so poor that an accident with this jack is inevitable.

use the hand/ footbreak ???

your car wont move at all. unless its a 50mph wind or something - nothing will move unless done wrong.

The factory jack sucks. It's unstable and if your car is lowered it cannot be used unless you feel like getting stuck on the way down. Jay55's E55 collapsed at the track while on the stock jack. There were 8-10 people around who witnessed it.

yea that jack sucks *****, i remember having to use it and i couldnt even figure out how that stupid handle went on, for some reason it seemed to keep wanting to graze the floor on each turn, so i had to pull out my friends moms jack from her mustang...

Ditto... finally got the car up and as soon as I put the donut on, the damn thing twisted and broke...good think I had the donut on by then or the rotor would have hit the highway.

I followed all the instructions, even put the little fold-up choc under the proper wheel, and the car fell off anyway. I put the jack away, cleaned my hands and called roadside. I have had German Fords, Porsches, BMW's, and Audi's. Not one of those cars had a decent jack. The Mercedes is easily the poorest of the bunch. It should be easy to operate, and not require complicated instructions to get the tire changed. My Citroen was the best. It was just a stick. You moved the suspension lever to high, stuck the stick in a hole, and then moved the lever to low and the tire came off the ground.

My Honda jack works wonders. For the rear anyway. I'm a little hesitant about using the jack for the front due to load rating concerns.

I drove my buddy's 03 CLK to vegas last year and got a flat on the way home (somewhere in the 909). We pulled into a rideshare parking lot right off the 91. Slapped in the jack, no wind, emergency brake on, completely flat parking lot...before I could even get to the wheel it rolled forward right off the jack. Just the weight of the car being at an angle forced it forward. Without a proper floorjack it needs some wheel chocks.

Mercedes has the worst jack design I have ever seen. Even on my old 560 the jack sucks.

Porsche includes a little air compressor that plugs into the cigarette lighter. It has helped many times when I've had a slow leak and needed to put some air in just to get to somewhere before fixing the tire. Now that you guys got me thinking about it I need to get a small air compressor for the benz.
