resonator removal

resonator removal
i went to two muffler shop to remove the resonator....bty i have an 05 230k ss and its my first mb...well both of them tell me that its not the resonator its the secondary cat converter......i look under the car and the pipe goes like this...from manifold to cat converter then pipe, as a curve thats where the second canister is at....then pipe to the muffler...now can you mb pro tell me if thats the resonator or second cat...

is SOLD
if there's no o2 sensor hooked up it then it is not a cat

thats what i told the muffler guy...there no o2 sensor hooked up...but he kept telling me that it is....any idea i can get a diagram for the exhaust so i can show it to him...then maybe hell do it

i'm not sure anymore... my shop told me its the secondary cat, and alot of people on here say its the resonator.

i will try my 3rd attempt to go to another muffler shop...once its on the lift then i will take a pix of it

Far as I know its the 2nd Cat...but I took it out anyway...but the stuff inside it looks like a cat...not any resonator that Ive ever seen...not that Ive seen many

I heard that SS have secondary cat and no res.

My 3.2 coupe has manifold, cat, then resonator, then rear silencer.

ant are you sure thats a resonator?? lets do this.

I'll take pics of my resonator, inside outside, and we'll check it out, compare! and solve the problem!!

i went to the dealer today...they show me the pix of the exhaust and say that its the secondary cat....so i guess thats it for me unless a new exhaust
