how to remove rear tire, it's not coming off.

So, I took the bolts off of my flat tire and I can't seem to get the tire off.

I've changed my civic's flat tire and it was pretty simple.

Am I doing something wrong? Help....

No, you seriously have to kick it off.
I had a loaner not to long ago and I thought they had glued the rims onto the hub. Called the dealer and my service advisor to literally kick off the rim.

How do you think I felt.
It was about 5:30PM and getting dark fast while I was near college. That means I was not at UH, but near 3rd Ward. Not a place you want to be in, especially in a Mercedes.

Yeah, you know how I moved into my new townhome? They're still putting up the later phases of the townhomes and so I suspect that I must have gotten a nail from there somewhere....

The tread is somewhat worn, but still okay so I would have had to get new tires soon anyways.

But damn, you really have to kick it.

Yup, pretty common in new developments. There will be nails all over the place.

what he said...LOL

it's way better than having powdercoat melting and glued to the hub. That's what my friend did with his mono VI. I spent 1hr and half trying to get the wheel off and then getting the brabus spacer off.

theres two ways this can be resolved.

1. KICK IT! like said above

2. take off all lugs/bolts, drive your car around and the wheel will fly right off. (altho I do not recommend )

when i got a flat and called roadside assistance, they said it was a common issue and advised me to use the spare to hit the wheel that was stuck. worked like a charm.

I prefer to use a bit less dramatic method:

1. Remove all wheel bolts.
2. Put 2 bolts back in (opposite positions), but leave very loose.
3. Grab the tire at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions.
4. Aggressively "rock" the tire back and forth until the hub loosens.
5. The 2 bolts holding the wheel on will keep you from falling on your a** when the wheel lets go.

"Wheel sticking" is a common problem on many car brands.

A good way to remove the rear tire is to loosen the bolts while the the car is still fairly on the ground. The pressure will pop the tire out!

Mercedes told me on my last flat to leave 2 loose bolts on, and slam the breaks in drive and reverse twice. I was like what!? Tore the tire up pretty bad but it worked.

Here is a simple way to get the wheel off.

Once the bolts are off the wheel, lower the jack until the tire comes into contact with the ground. Then continue slowly lowering until the wheel pops off slightly, then raise the jack again and take the wheel off.

Worked for me everytime the wheel is stuck.

Not too crazy about kciking the wheel, I'm afraid I would knock the car off the jack!

Just get your wheels rotated when they should be and you'll not have a problem...

Good idea, but those of us who have sport models cannot rotate the tires. The rear tires (and wheels) are wider than the front, and are therefore not interchangeable.

I remember removing the lugs on c230 05's brabus reps. dam man, the wheels were stuck. we kicked it a few times. but c230 05 would kick it softly b/c he was afraid that his car would fall off the jack! but i kicked the hell out of them lol
