2nd gear burnout c240

I put the pedal to the floor at about 10 mph, while the vehicle was in 2nd gear. It shifted down to first, and took off. Going into second I hear the rear tires break loose, and the ESP light came on for a split second. Then they gripped and we were off! To add to this greatness, I had 3 passengers in the vehicle including myself, plus 9.5" brand new nitto nt555 tires on the back.

My c never did this before, but the only thing different is new Denso Iridium spark plugs and two KN filters. Simply Amazing!

Anyone else experienced this effect?

of course! we all knew that the C240 is a torque MONSTER, only rivaled by the E55. that putting the Denso's and K&N would add close to 400hp and that you'd break loose everywhere.

sounds like you've been driving in some areas with tons of sand!

i saw some minor debris off to the right of the road, like on the shoulder. There was minimal amounts in the lane, but where I drove it was where the tires had worn away the sand. Probably still 10% covereage! So the c240 is good with torque? Can you please explain it a lil further, like why and how.

Example
C240
Max. Torque [lb-ft (Nm) 177 (240) at 4500

I've had cars with more than 200 lb-ft of torque and they didn't burn in second... Probably just the sand and nothing more? It was still fun as hell though

Also, may something be wrong with my tranny?

If the ESP light came on for a second, then you simply chirpped the tires.

Far far from a burnout.

it was sand, you lost traction, ESP intervened and when you finally got traction your car got going.

I was being sarcastic with the torque comment. there's no way in hell a C240 can do a burnout with ESP on, 9.5's and 3 people. hell, there's no way it can do a burnout period.

That is exactly what I was thinking. The ESP program is quite intrusive on these cars.

i cant even burnout in my 06 lol, pos has no tq. itll lose traction if i take a left turn at WOT and esp will flash and flash til i get straight, maybe its my massive hp gain from k/n's and a straight pipe . but from a straight away..no chance in hell. sand is your best friend lol.

Yes. Gotta love the REAL cars back then without any electronic aids.

you lost traction on ur 240.

I play with the ESP all the time, when theres slight drizzle and when i'm on a open road, i floor it. and it gives this "ehhh" kinda small squeek lol.

the 240. maybe witha pulley kit, exhaust, a bunch of other stuff, then do a crazy burnout!

but 240 with esp on? burnout no way!

You can do a burnout in any car. Trust me. One of my friends thought I was joking when I told him his 140ish hp honda could do a burnout. Well needless to say as soon as I got in his car his front tires were smoking like a pine cone on fire.

As for the C230 loaner cars with 4 people in them I could do burnouts. But from a roll of 10 mph thats going to be hard but not impossible just improbable.

oh yeah you should check out some of the burn out video's on youtube of mercedes roasting rubber lol

I think our cars burn more rubber than we think. When I took off at another instance, I heard the tires like rub/grip on the road... It wasn't burning rubber, but it was wasting it. I'd like to power brake my car but im scarred of breaking it.

Put the car in dyno mode and burn your rubber into ash. Espesially if you remove the rear wheels and put donuts instead.

Your car chirped. Mine does every time I shift down to 1, still rolling and making a turn. Because of ESP lag on my car, a nice 'slip' or 'slide' can occur.

Burnouts can occur as other have already described in other threads.

ive actually wondered the condition of my tranny.. When i start it up cold, it sticks in gear. However, It does NOTHING else that is out of order... It's been to the money grubbing dealership its whole life and they haven't said anything about it. I figured if something was wrong, they would want my money... I mean they would want to fix it. LOL

A Jeep I had a few years back would stick in gear when cold, and them when it warmed up good, had trouble keeping a gear. Turned out to be a plugged filter.

Might be worth looking into. I try to avoid the slushboxes when I can.
