Bad Day Today
I woke up and found out that my cars side lamp is out (clear corner bulb) so i dont really care and drive.... on the way to nassau cc (winter class) the dumbass in front of me follows to close and slams on his brakes so i had to slam on mine i almost hit him.. and it would've been my fault. thank god i didnt after that my ABS light goes on and than off and than on now its off neone experiece this???? after hard brakin??? after that dash lights up red and says service battery/alternator. I get to skool park my car and try to turn it on again the car wont turn on.... but my lights and locks still work. I had the public safety jump my car for me and just got home....
neways do u guys think its my battery or alternator??? i'm kinda leanin towards the battery any brand suggestions?? should i go OEM or doesnt matter??? thanx is it hard to install?

If you decide want to go change with OEM batt, remember to contact the 1-800# from MB. It will save you a lot compare if you were gonna do it thru the dealer.
Last time I used that service for new batt cost me about $136 (hopefully I remember correctly) and the technician who came was really cool.

I got battery/alternator warning light that pop out couple weeks back and I could hear some knocking noises from the engine bay. The light went away after I restart the car, but noise is still there for couple more days. However, the noise and light bought went away after maybe 2 days of driving around. Now the car runs fine and no warning message or weird noise from engine.

my story was, sometime around last fall/winter 05, I drove the ML to sunset park here in bk, the car was fine, shut it off at the gas station, after gas turned it back on, and boom. everything on except the motor. roadside came, slapped on a new battery and said there was a recall on the alternator. so i had to schedual a stupid appointment at mb.
so sheldon you are still comin sunday right!

yes i will be there on sunday. i will call the 1800 tomorrow to get a new battery... my car is just not in the shape i wanted it to be for the meet.... i dk i guess i'll put in the OEM wedge bulb in there tomorrow also... i never had a problem with this car also i hope its not the alternator

my bad, i always thought to "follow" meant to be trailing someone. what was i thinking?! and since he was following close to you then how could his breaking affect you?

so i just called that 1800 number and the guy says that it sounds like my alternator is going and he recommends that i bring in it monday back to rallye (where i bought my car). He says that it prolly isnt the battery and he says that if i keep drivin the car it'll prolly die somewhere so i dk what to do now??? should just wait till monday and bring in my car? and go to the meet still on sunday and just bring a set of jumper cables w/ me??? he also said that the alternator might be free of charge also since the car is under 50K and i have warranty

so i just scheduled a appt for tuesday 4PM and they said the car will be ready wed morning... thats the only time they have a loaner vehicle i hope the alternator is covered under warranty or somethin i dk

the alternator should be covered under the warranty.. Just bring some jumper cables on Sunday and you should be good.

the jumper cable is in the trunk right now
